This document certifies that I appoint, & leave, John A Steinbeck, my associate & assistant the last 2 years & three months, my Successor in my present Agricultural work for the poor Jews of Palestine, I commit to this charge & possession all my personal interest & property & the finer donations I have in use as tools implements, medicines etc every thing whatsoever. No one except my beloed Son Charles A Minor shall have authority to interfere or council him respecting my affairs a effects.

In case [Charles Albert Minor|Charles A Minor]] should return this land, he is my natural representative, & must havee senior & equal right to, & direction of all things mentioned above. I would also express that I regard John A Steinbeck from so long & intimate cooperation in this work, as honest faithful, industrious, peculiarly capable in the acquaintance of the languages & business manners of the natives & Jews & more in pious devotion & love to this benevolent work.
