To Make Scorbutick Pills Take Extractum Rudice 2 Drackms Pillele Ruffe 2 Dram's Pillele Allifingine 2 Dram's Rubarb Pouder 1/2 oz [Syrup?] Buckthorne 1 oz Cimmecall oyle of Time 24 Drops oyle of Sassafrass ye Same quantety Sall. Antemonia 2 Drackm's this to be well mixt together into A Paist and made into Pills not Exceeding A Bean for bigness you may take to Purge you well 2 att night and 3 in ye morning

4 To Make Sweet Pill's ye Best way Take 4 Pound of Pure hard Sugar and make it to fine Powder; yn dissolve 6 ounces of ye Juice of Liquorice in 1 Pint of good Hissop water till it be indifferant thick Put this Juice thus desolved into A clean morter and mix in it of Muske Civet and Ambergrease of Each 4 graines Rubing ym to Small Powder with an ounce or 2 of white Candy and yn Stir ym well together with ye Juice in A morter and as you mingle them drop in to ym 30 Drops of Chimicall oyle of Aniseed's yn Put to ym by degrees ye 4 lb of Powdered Sugar Above Sayd and beat all very Strongly together till it come into A Paist fitt to be formed into Pills with your fingers yn Keep ym very dry for use

For ye Stone Take Juice of Brookelime watercresses and Scurvigrass of Each one Pint Juice of Sorrill halfe A Pint Horse Raddish Roots and White Bryany Root Sliced and Bruised of each 4 oz Nutmeggs Bruised halfe an ounce cloves bruised one ounce Celadine 2 good handfull's Germander one good handfull strong bear 2 quarts distill all together in a could still distill of 3 Pints together and then A Pint more let ye afforesaid ingredients Infuse 24 Houres before you begin to still ym Paist your still and let it be well dry'd before you begin tie a wett Bladder about ye Pipe of ye still yt goes into ye 3 Pint Bottle yt no spirit may Evapporate take one spoonfull of this in your small bear, this antescorbutick Water being so drunk will prevent scurvie Dropsie joundas and Gout with other distempers Joseph Troutbeck

For A Cough Take 8 large Turnip's Pared and Sliced very thin. 1 handfull of Sweet Hoarhound 1 penny worth of maden Hysope Water 1 lb of white sugar candy beaten to Powder, 1 lare of turnips and after a lare of sugar candy 1 lare of Hearbs and after that a lare of Turneps and Lastly ye water Poured out is a very good Electuary and will both heal and Lousen

3 A Pouder Aproved Against ye Stone Or Wind Collek Take ye Kirnells of Acornes and ye Seed of Ash Keys and ye Seed of Haires and hip's of Each halph an ounce dryed and Poudered Gromwell Seed and Ginger of Each 2 ounces, Loafe Sugar Powdered 2 oz mix ym all together, putt ym in A Glass Bottle well Stopt Kept near ye Fire for Damp Spoile it It is to be taken about as much as will ly on A broad Shilling or halfe Crowne for ye Stone in a Glass of white Wine and in Bear for ye wind Collek when ye Paine does come and if once takeing does not Remove it take it againe Although it be Preasantly After it is very good for A Stich in ye Side yt is caused by winde and for ye Splen and it gives Ease for After Paines and may be given to A Child of A Moneth old in A little Black chirrey water but this is most Efectuall for The Stone

A very good Electuary for A Consumption Take 6 P[enny]worth of Spirit of Safron. 6 Penny worth of Safron dryed to Powder halfe an ounce of the oyle of Sweet Almond's 1 1/2 of ye oyle of olives 1/2 lb Treakle 1 Nutmegg 1 oz of Bay Berrye's 2 oz of cariander Seed's halfe an ounce of Sweet Fennell Seeds half An ounce of Annas Seeds halfe an ounce of Turmarag all these finely beaten and Sifted through a Fine Sive halfe an ounce of Alicampane halfe an ounce of Pouder of Licquoras 1 Quarter of A Pound Sugar candy beaten to Pouder and mix all These together and Take morning and night 3 Knife Pointfulls

A Receipt for A Diett Drink for one in a Consumption. or Troubled with any inward weakness Take one handfull of even's one handfull of Hearts tongue one handfull of Liver woort one handfull of Blood woort one handfull of Sage of jerusalem one handfull of mother of Time one handfull small of sweet sage one handfull of Lung wort one handfull of wood sage 3 Browne Fennell Roots and branch 1 handfull of Bome 1 handfull of speirmint one handfull of sweet Margerum dry or green 1 handfull of Black Berry Leaves one good handfull of sweet horehound 1 Angeleco Root 2 White camphera Roots 1/2 handfull of single Tansey 9 spriggs of Ale Cost 2 lb of horse Raddish 1 handfull of Pelletory of the Wall or Root 2 handfulls of Feild Bettony 1 handfull of Foles foot 9 Lady Thistles 2 Burdock Root's and ye middle Leafe 1 handfull of unsett Hisope 9 mall Roots and Branch 19 Parsely Roots and Branch the bigest and the best all these to be washed very clean and boyled very well in 27 quarts of South Runing Spring water untill it comes to 17 quarts then take it of and straine out the Licquor, and add carraway seeds coriander seeds sweet Fennell seeds Annoseeds of Each 1 quarter of A Pound 1/4 lb Licquoras stick slist very thin. 1oz 1/2 large mace 1oz of nutmeg's 1/2 oz of cloves beat the seeds and slice the Nutmeggs and Putt the seeds and Liquoras in louse and the spices in a Bagg then simber it over the fire a Full houre now Putt in 1 Quart of Honey 3 lb of Powdered sugar lett it stand untill it be as could as milk from the cow then sett on yeast and lett it work 24 houres then draw it of And Bottle it, And lett the Party Drink thereof Three times A day untill they have drunk three of these Quanteties
