NOTES, MISCELLANEOUS: Handwritten memo, attached to typewritten document.

Handwritten memo:
"Don,
I don't now what to do with this
sample. I've given it about 10 minutes of
my time with no count made. The only
diatoms that are in it are a somewhat normal
shaped Chaetoceros (and I would easily
count 200 of them). The sample also
contains fragments of some screwy looking
Bidduphia, a Eucampia, a Certatium [sp?], and
some fragments of others too small to recognize
(I think by anyone). The greatest portion
of the sample are "zooplankters" which
I'm sure you'll recognize. Sort of Nematodish
in character but I think I'll leave
its identity to you. Just take a peek at
it. It certainly takes up more than 99%
of the sample volume.
Bennie
Also seen in sample: 1 Skeletonema, 3 Ditylum, 1 Asterionella"

Typewritten memo:
[Crossed out section:]
"Well, I've finally finished the first quarters phytoplankton. As in the
past some samples were really bitchy, while others were a snap. I kept fair-
ly close tabs on the time spent. I'm planning on having the samples shipped back tomorrow, so I don't know what the postage will be. I've included it with the next billing."

[Typewritten memo]
[Not crossed out section:]
In regards to the note attached to the March 17 data sheet:
If you want a count, I suppose the best one is the rough copy I made when I looked at the same, as follows- Chaetoceros, 183; Biddulphia, 1; Eucampia, 1, Ceratium, 1; Skeletonema, 1; Ditylum, 3; Asterionella, 1; Unknown, 9. I could have made some more counts on other drops of materials, but it seemed a waste of time; they'll all turn out different.
