Secretary and Treasurer.

San Francisco, Cal., July 17 1899

Dear Doctor:
Yours of 14th with enclosure read this A.m.

I see nothing objectionable in your
proposed letter, at least so far as we
are concerned. I took the liberty of
changing the concluding clause; for
as it originally read, it was open to
an implication that we had fallen
short in something, which we would
correct, as we have lived up to
all requirements always, in every par-
ticular, & frequently done more than
was required, the alteration seemed better.

Yours very truly
F.S. Douty
