H.B. Heacock was appointed to prepare a suitable minute
for the records concerning the late Dr Bentley & a Copy
was ordered sent to his family.

The following was adopted as the report.
While the Lord of the Vineyard carries for-
ward his work in our midst He is frequently, of
late calling away his servants.

Since our last annual meeting Robert
Bentley DD. one of our directors has been
transferred from Earthly toil to Heavenly
employment. We miss to night his genial and
happy face and presence. We remember with gratitude
our every association with him and feel very keenly
our loss at his removal.

In the interest he took in the Grove we detected a
genuine purpose and effort to assist in making it
one of the most helpful places on the coast for the
promotion of every virtue and grace.

Ever alert to the interests of the Redeemer's Kingdom
he was specially alive to the progress of temperance.
Let his alertness in this direction stimulate us to
more careful supervision if it can be so, on this [point?].
We believe our departed brother was one of God's no-
blemen and feel that our lives are better, our pur-
poses stronger, our determination to be victors more fixed
by reason of our association with him. As we shall
see him no more on Earth we desire to place on record
this brief and imperfect tribute to his worth, and our
appreciation of his character and influence. We also direct
our secretary to communicate this to his bereaved family
with an expression of our love and prayerful
sympathy in their great and irreparable loss.
