The annual meeting of the Directors was held
in the Parlor of Cottage No. 5 at 8 P.M.
In the absence of the President George Clifford Rev. [?] R
Dille was chosen President Protem.
A.K. Kellogg led in prayer. Present. Dille
[Priddy[. Hopkins. A.L. Kellogg Williamson Heacock
Dr. Filbeu Superintendent was detained by illness
but his report was read as follows.
The year has been in which im-
portant issues in Connection with the future of the
George have arisen. The new relation of S.P. [Aud]
P.I. Companies had previously developed questions
of policy. These had been settled by post [pouement]
until this year. This has involved the Consider-
ation of the questions of practical administration,
[?udices] passes, advertising, etc.
The P.I. Co. assumes the position that the own-
ership of its stock having become independent of the
S.P. Co. that it was no longer reasonable that
it should bear all the expenses incident to pro-
[?eot?y] Pacific Grove & carrying out plans
which in their returns benefitted mainly the S.P.
Co. This included an important & exceedingly del-
icate question and I am pleased to be able to report
that after thorough consideration of the matters in all
matters in all points by the parties involved in inter-
est a new & entirely satisfactory basis has been
secured whereby all of their interest covered by the Re-
treat Association have been carefully & fully
preserved. Henceforth the P.I. Co. will supply,
as heretofore, its accommodation free for the
