Pacific Grove June 20, 1912

The Annual meeting of Directors of Pacific
Grove Retreat Association was held at the Parlor
of Pacific Grove [??].

There were present Henry French, E.R. Dille
E.P. [Dermelt] J.F. Forderer JW Bryant WW Case HB Heacock.
The meeting was opened with prayer by W.
W. Case.

The minutes of the last Annual meeting
were read and approved.

The Secretary read his Annual Report as
follows.

Annual Report June 20, 1912

The past year has been a busy one in the ma-
terial interests of the Grove. Large sums of money
have been expended by the City in the inaugura-
tion & carrying out an entire system of [severage].
Also in the erection of a substantial City
Hall which is nearing completion it is an orna-
ment to the city. Considerable excitement arose
in reference to play grounds. Under the ad-
ministration of the city authorities of last year
an attempt was made to set apart a portion
of Caledonia Park for a Tennis Court. Many
of the nearby residents objected and our
injunction was obtained by their action.
The case was set for trial, but was postponed
for several weeks. In the meantime an election
was held in which none of the Trustees favoring
such a movement was elected, except one, & he
soon after resigned & his place filled by a
