The Pacific Grove Retreat Association pursuant to a notice given to all the members by order of the President, provisionally chosen by a meeting previously held. Convened in the Howard St Methodist Episcopal Church in the city of San Francisco. on the evening of June 28th 1875 at 7 1/2 O.clock.

Rev G. Clifford provisional president called the meeting to order and E. S. Todd by his request led the meeting in prayer.

The following members were present, Viz. G. Clifford. J. W. Ross E. S. Todd Otis Gibson. F. F. Jewell. J A Clayton and G. F. Baker & J. W. H. Campbell.

The Committee to prepare and submit By Laws for the Association reported by G. F. Baker Secty. See By Laws Page.

After the adoption of the By Laws, the Association proceeded to elect its officers in harmony with the provisions of the same.

J. W. H. Campbell was granted leave of absence.

Officers The following Board of Officers was chosen.

President Rev George Clifford Vice " Rev J W Ross. Secretary " F. F. Jewell Treasurer J W H Campbell

Additional members of the Executive Committee J A Clayton Rev G.O. Ash Geo F Baker

Supertintendent J. W Ross was elected Superintendent. of the Grounds of the Association for the term of One year with compensation of One hundred dollars per. month.

On motion the Superintendant was authorized to select a lot and occupy the same at once.

Central Avenue The Superintendant was instructed in levying off the grounds to arrange for a Central Avenue through the land deeded to the Association for Camp Meeting purposes. - from the public road to the centre of the grounds.

Contract with D Jacks On motion of G. F. Baker the President and Secretary of the Association were authorized to enter into a Contract with David Jacks Esq. for the purchase, improvement and control of Lands at Point Pinos in Monterey County, State of California upon such terms and conditions as shall be most advantageous to this Association.

Contract with R. R. & S S. Cas It was further resolved that the President and Secretary of this Association be and are hereby authorized to Contract with the Central Pacific Rail Road Company,,, with the Southern Pacific Rail Road Company — with the California Pacific Rail Road Company, with the Monterey and Salinas Valley Rail Road Company, and with the Goodall, Nelson & Perkins Steam Ship Company, for the regulation of the price of tickets which may be sold by said Companies, to the excursionist to the Grounds of this Association, and for the payment to this Association of a part of the proceeds of the sale of such tickets Said contracts to be made for a term not exceeding ten years from the date of their execution.

Meeting adjourned subject to call of President.

Pursuant to notice the Associations met on the Grounds of the Association Tuesday Aug 17th the President in the Chair.

No business was transacted Meeting adjourned to meet at 7 1/2 oclock in the evening.

Evening Session. Aug 17th 1875 Association met as per adjournment. President called the meeting to order.

On motion it was ordered that an order be drawn on the Treasurer for the Amount of Salary and tracking expenses of J. W. Ross, kept up to date.

Also ordered that an order be drawn on the Treasurer for the amount of Salary and Traveling expenses of G. O. Ash for labor performed and services rendered. to date.

On motion it was resolved to request and authorize the Treasurer to receive Superintendents receipts signed by J. W. Ross as cash.
