Non serebbe nocte mai in verun luoco
Ma 'l sole non po passare le sue dure osse
E pero mancha il giorno a puoco a puoco
Che la terra cel toglie e fassi obscuro
Per l'ombra che ci fa suo corpo duro

De tuto'l tempo del secul presente
Che'l sol gira in vintiquatro hore
E ritornato al'usato occidente
Ed in diversi siti a tute l' hore

Che tra la nocte e'l di e sempre uguale

E'l giorno cresce e la nocte va via
