Et dautant comme le bon devient plus cler de tant retient
la lye plus de mal heurete dordure et dobscurete. Tout
ainsi est il du bien et du mal. Car le mal fault quil descen
de en lieu tenebreux et horrible et plain de toute doleur et
amertume. Et le bien comment estre amont devant dieu
ou tous les biens son perpetuellement. Et comme plus
sesclarast le bien devant dieu et plus sesioist tant a le mal plus
dobscurite et de doleur en enfer ou il est continuellement et
sera tant comme dieu sera en paradis. ou dieu a tous biens
devant soy et tousjours les aura sans paine sans traveil et
sans ennuy. Tous les a et tous les enlumine sans nulle
deffaulte et sans nulle terme quelconque dieu poeut tout
faire et tout deffaire sans soy muer en riens quil soit. Car
il poeut tout et tout consent. nulle riens ne se prent a
lui. Il est estable sans nul mouvement. et tous mouve

bad and tainted. And the good wine, which stays above,
remains always clear and clean. And the bad, which has
fallen to the bottom, remains constantly dark, ugly, and black.
And even as the good becomes clearer, so
the lees retain more and more that is filthy and dark. And so it is
with good and evil. For evil must descend
to the place which is dark and horrible and full of pain and
bitterness. And the good, being good, rises before God
where all good things perpetually are. And the more the
good thing shines before God, the more the evil thing is seized
with darkness and pain in hell, where it continually is
and will be, just as God will be in paradise. For God has all good things
before him and will always have them without effort or trouble and
without care. He has them all, and he enlightens them with no
flaw and with no limit at all. God can do
everything and undo everything without changing in any way at all. For
he can do all things and he allows all things to be done. Nothing can harm
him. He is fixed, without any movement. And all move-
