Paradise was created and made, and on the contrary by evi
hell, horrible and fearsome, was established.

Here is spoken of rhetoric.

The third of the seven arts is called rhetoric,
which contains in its substance justice, reason, and
orderly speech. It should not be taken lightly. For judgments
are made according to laws. And all those things that are
held and maintained in the court of kings, princes, and barons
according to reason and law come and proceed
from rhetoric. From this art were derived
the laws and decretals that are applicable and used
in all cases and in all right actions. The person who knows well
the art of rhetoric will understand right action
