Translation

indicated the death of Jesus Christ, which necessarily occurred
differently for Jesus Christ than for anyone else.
For He was and is by right Lord and King of the
whole world and can make and order it according to
His good pleasure. Other deaths occur by nature, keeping
on earth their intrinsic quality of [foreshadowing] things to come, as it is right for
everything on the earth to end and come to nothing,
and to do so quickly. God did not make the firmament
or the stars, which go about their turning above us, for no reason.
Rather, he gave the stars names and intrinsic qualities in heaven and on
earth, each according to its power over all things that
have birth. For there is nothing that does not have born in it some
power, indeed as much as it should have by reason. We will leave off
now [from discussing what eclipses are in order to tell and discuss] (see note)
the intrinsic quality of the firmament and the
stars, for if one knew this quality, he would know in truth everything
there is here below on earth by right reason
of nature, however much the matter might be obscure or not.
