to the virtues, this good comes from Our Lord.
And if he inclines to doing evil, this will lead him in the end
to suffering and perpetual pain. The evil person will never
say anything of the good, of which he can never know anything.
There is no art that is not good to know when a man
gives himself to it. But let him do nothing against God,
lest he lose His grace. All is known about astronomy
except that which God does not want to be known. It is
more worthwhile to learn about it than to learn the knowledge
by which one amasses great treasure. And he who knows
astronomy well will have for himself everything that he
wants on earth. For he will lack nothing at all that
he might want more of. But these others hold money
more dear, and do not know what astronomy is nor why
it was discovered. However much they apply their
understanding, they do not care about learning anything
except that which they know will result in their own
profit. And for that reason we will not cease to tell of
certain cases, for [the sake of] those who have talent for learning.
Let him hear who wants to understand.
[rubric:] Here is discussed why money was established. [/rubric]
