Dear Mom and Dad,
I just got your letter about the BAGZACI Decathlon. Sounded tremendous. I can't believe the times Dad had, and Jeff too. 8:06 in mile is great and 14.2 in 100 beats twice my 50 time. BUt Joe really sounded like he did great. Everybody must be in shape. I'm not at all. Not much to exercise-wise when its snowing. I sure wish I'd been there. I would have been last if I entered - might not have. But sure would have been great to see. Shoot! Jeff's 5:27 in mile is amazing. Hurray for us.
I'm studying. I for sure am going to take an incomplete in the Directed Reading Course and finish next quarter. The rest of courses will be all right. Last night I went with Brian and Skip (Brian's roommate and my friend from Madera) to [Krauters?] and baked chocolate chip cookies. I brought stuff to make it out of. It was fun and I didn't eat too many. [I'm?] still dieting.
Our plans for 3-week break are up in the air. I'm pushing hard for Spain and Bob and Amy want Greece. Bruce will decide where. Both would be good, but I could speak in Spain.
Jeff and Steve sure take their time in replying to letters. Is Steve still planning on going to Europe?
I cashed the $500 checque yesterday at American Express Office and got travelers checks. I'm not out but might need some one 3 week break. Hope I did OK. The value

of dollar is sure going down - I don't know when to exchange. Banks are closed today because some decision is being made about the dollar. I hope it goes up.
Tomorrow night I got to a Birthday party with this Ewalt german guy. Yuck. He's nice but its still going to be horribly awkward. Wendy Ramage (RA at MAdera last year) will be there too. Hope she'll talk to me. Yuck. I wish I could say no. You would say it's good for me.
Have you heard anything about [Igo?]? Anything new?
Spring quarter is going to go really fast. Good weather and lots of travelling. There are good eating spots around here if that makes any difference as to whether you [are?] going to come or not. You should come. Have you heard anything about the fares for flights back? When do they go down? [In?] March, wasn't it? That was a good letter you sent. I'm writing pretty often right? Good of Anne. I wish I were home for those gourmet dinners and breakfasts. Rats.
