Description

Samuel Watson Charles (1869-1916) matriculated at Stanford in Sep. 1893 and received an AB in Pre-Law from Stanford in 1898. He served as principal of Palo Alto Schools from 1895 to 1896. He married Isabel Linton Peck (Stanford A.B. German, 1900) on Sep. 1, 1900. He became Justice of the Peace in Palo Alto in 1902 and also was a Lecturer in California Practice at the Stanford Law School until his tragic death in a railroad crossing accident in San Bruno on Dec. 11, 1916. His wife succeeded him as Justice of the Peace.
