Alice Julia Lohmann Mack (1858-1944) was born and grew up in Sacramento, married Louis Alexander Hans Robert Mack (1862-1901), a Dutch citizen; they lived in Amsterdam and Singel in Holland. Alice returned to California and lived in San Francisco after her husband's death. Her father, Isaac Lohman (or Lohmann), was the organizer in 1867 of the Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company, of which Leland Stanford was one of the original principal investors.
