Charles Beatty Alexander (1849-1927), lawyer, director and counsel for Equitable Life Insurance Co., director of several banks and railroads, art collector, Regent of the University of the State of New York. Married Harriet Valentine "Hattie" Crocker (1859-1935), daughter of railroad magnate Charles Crocker. Alexander Hall at Princeton University was given by his wife as a gift to the university in his honor.
