Description

Rabbi Jacob Voorsanger (1852-1908) was born in Amsterdam and came to America in 1873, where became the cantor at several synagogues in the eastern U.S., then Houston, finally arriving in San Francisco in 1886. He was a Lecturer on the Framework of the Old Testament at Stanford in 1898-1899 and 1903-1905 and also taught at the University of California, Berkeley.
