Description

Frederick Lux (1830-1905) was a California pioneer, arriving in 1849, born in France. He was engaged in mining operations and was an assemblyman from Tuolumne and Calaveras counties and quite involved in Republican politics. He served as Assistant Appraiser for U.S. Customs in San Francisco from 1870 to 1884. He was married to Sarah Jane (Bellingham) Lux (1842-1890).
