Description

Anthony Caminetti (1854-1923) was a California lawyer and served as District Attorney of Amador County from 1878 to 1882. From 1883 to 1885 he was a member of the California Assembly and from 1885 to 1887 served in the California Senate. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and served from 1891 to 1895. On February 13, 1894, long after Leland Stanford's death, Caminetti and 8 other members of the House chose to deliver eulogies for Senator Stanford on the House floor, with the result that only 10 members of the House remained in attendance.
