Description

John Wallace "Captain Jack" Crawford (1847-1917) was known as "The Poet Scout". He was an adventurer, journalist and author who wrote of his many experiences in the wild west and was a close associate of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. In his later years he became an entertainer, lecturing to audiences about his experiences. He wrote seven books of poetry and more than one hundred short stories.
