Description

Clinton Day (1847-1916) was an architect who designed several of the notable buildings in San Francisco. In 1898 he was commissioned by Jane Stanford to revise the drawings for Stanford Memorial Church, originally prepared by Charles Allerton Coolidge in 1887. Construction began in 1899 and the church was dedicated in January of 1903.
