Douglas Houghton Campbell (1859-1953) was the founding head of the Botany department at Stanford University in 1891. He had been a Professor at Indiana University from 1888 to 1891 but followed David Starr Jordan to become one of the 15 founding professors at Stanford. He retired in 1925.
