Jerome MaddenJerome Madden (1829-1913) was an assistant to Benjamin Barnard Redding (1824-1882), land agent for the Central Pacific Railroad. In 1876 he was hired as the Land Agent for the Southern Pacific Railroad. There are many advertisements in the newspapers of the times attempting to sell the lands that the Southern Pacific acquired through their railroad construction with Jerome Madden prominently listed as Land Agent.
