My dearly loved Friend: - I have thought of you constantly, and have prayed our dear heavenly father to have you in His tenderest keeping during these days of sadness and affliction. Your beloved sister is now with all the loved ones in the Land of Peace and of Rest. What a meeting and a greeting she had as her Saviour welcomed her to

the Home on High! Darling Leland was there, full of joy and gladness. Her happy soul is exultant with bliss. I know it has been very hard for you, dear Mrs. Stanford, but you should be comforted in the thought that you were exactly where duty called you, and not one thing more could have been done for the dear one. Good Mrs. Robertson could not have been more tender; and every thing that medical care and the best nursing could do, was done. It was God's time for the sweet soul to go up Higher. The funeral exercises were very lovely and impressive. The hymns tender, and full of feeling. Every one seemed moved to heavenly calm and sincere sympathy.

In our Board meeting, on Thursday last, the enclosed Resolutions were passed. I send a copy to you, with my grateful love. Your little children and the Kindergartens were never so intersting as now. One, only two years old - motherless- is at 8th + Brannan streets. General Brinkerhoff of Ohio spent a day in your schools with me, last week. He was deeply impressed with the great and good work. The schools at Menlo Park and Mayfield are in fine condition. Hattie sends you her love. She is a dear devoted daughter. With Ever Grateful Love, I am Yours Sarah B. Cooper

My dear Mrs. Stanford: Beloved Friend-

Your lovely and welcome letter of August 1st gave me heartfelt pleasure and real comfort. I am so glad and grateful, that you are sustained under your severe affliction, by your blessed Saviour, whom you love and trust, and whose presence is your abiding strength and joy. I am glad, that in the gracious Providence of God, you were not present during the last days of your dear sister's illness. You could have done nothing more than was done, and it would have worn on your already heavily-burdened loving heart. I called, last Friday, to see if Mrs. Robertson was well. She looked so worn at the funeral. She was rested and recuperated, and was looking very well. All you say in regard to the nearness of the Beautiful World, to which our loved ones have gone, is true. It is not a far-off land. It is close at hand. It's breezes fan our fevered brow, in hours when this world recedes; in times when the cares of life press heavily. The consciousness of the Life Invisible grows every day. The proofs of the nearness of the beloved departed increase. As our communion with God becomes more constant and more ardent, our communion with those who are gone to be with God, becomes more

constant and more ardent. We are lifted above the actual, living Present, into the World of Spirits - into the Spiritual World. We breathe the Heavenly air; we see the shining of the glory that is to be revealed; we hear the music of the harpers, tuning their harps. There are proofs that never can be doubted, as to the nearness of the beloved ones gone before. I have no doubt but what precious Leland was on the Heavenly Dock to meet your beloved sister - not a particle of doubt of it. And we know Jesus, her loved Redeemer, was there. He will never leave nor forsake His faithful followers.

Yes, dear friend, your beloved sister was ready and anxious to hear the Call: "Come up Heigher![sic]" It was a welcome summons to her. You did everything possible to make her last days on earth, as comfortable as they could be made. Yes - dearest friend - this consciousness that all life is one; that both worlds are one, is coming to be felt more and more. It is God-revealed. We are on the eve of wonderful spiritual disclosures. It will not be many years before it will be apprehended by all, that the Invisible is the real. You and I know this. We feel the light touch of angel wings in hours when this world recedes - in hours when the spiritual vision is opened, and we see the mountain full of Heavenly Helpers. All is well - yea, all is well.

Our Kindergartens are doing excellent work - better than ever before. We receive applications for reports in every mail. A box of reports, sent by request to Winnipeg, Canada, has resulted in opening a great work there. Our report moved a man of wealth to support a free Kindergarten. By request, I am writing a series of Kindergarten articles for the N.Y. Independent. The first one appeared about two weeks ago. It was titled: "Every mother a Kindergartner." Already I have had numbers of letters, asking for more information. I wrote a second article yesterday for Independent. Thus the good work goes on. During the past 13 years we have trained 12,346 children in our Kindergartens. Several thousand of these, dear friend, you have trained; dear Leland has trained. It is the very best work that can be done. We reach back into the homes. The children lead their parents upward. I could talk all the morning, dearest friend. But I must close. God bless all your loved ones - and restore them to health. We pray [ note on side of page] for you every day of our lives. Hattie sends her grateful love to you. She is a darling, devoted daughter. With a heart full of love & sympathy I am yours Sarah B. Cooper
