My Dear Mrs. Stanford,

It is a delicate
task to convey words of condolence
and comfort to one so deeply
bereaved as yourself, but I cannot
refrain from expressing my
sorrow that so great a benefactor,
and loving husband, should be so
suddenly taken away.

This great affliction, has robbed
your happy home of your life-long
companion and adviser, and the world
of its greatest philanthopist and benefactor.
