Science books that I had send you before you left Washington & an address you had asked me for - But Oh! Now - Oh! With what deep & tender sympathy my dear friend I have been thinking of

you - I who know [as] well the anguish of your poor heart - how well I know it all - notwithstanding that I can live above all I feel by living out of my self there are times when like an avalanche my sorrow in the mortal thought comes over me - but it is only for a moment - hush it - I say no
