My dear Mrs Stanford
My little son of twelve and I deeply sympathize with you in your sad bereavement.
Your beloved husband's greatest gift was that to the children and youth of California and the World, prompted by the loss of your dear boy. "He is not dead but sleepeth." You have the sincere love and sympathy of all good people.
That God may sustain you in this trying hour is the desire of you
Sincere friends

May it comfort you now in these dark days aft[er] your irreparable loss to feel that the influence

of that home and spiritual life with its results have gone and will go into into many homes! -
I have suffered and know how cold written words seem in comparison with the feelings which sings through a torn and bleeding heart but I longed to say some word of comfort and affection that you might know we were cherishing memories and reaching out to you with a desire

My dear Mrs. Stanford:
We have been with you in thought and deep sympathy: wishing we could quietly be by your side, to show you how terribly we feel for you.
We knew you would be brave and thoughtful for others, sustained by the beautiful faith

to help you.
May you be sustained and comforted, enabled to say "Make Thy ways mine" while looking forward to the glorious re-union.
Dr. Harvey wishes me to say he has quietly revisited the past and in mourning the loss of a friend he finds it pleasant to feel there were no difference his entire confidence in times of trouble as well as brighter times
