Since the sacred hour that my son and myself spent at Palo Alto, when the doors closed upon the dear companion of your life, I have been absent in Kern County, and down the coast, and have been so engrossed by business cares

We rejoice that he set such beneficent influences in motion and that he found in you a keeper so efficient.
