The Officers and Members of Stanford
Parlor #76, Native Sons of the Golden West, desire to
express to you their grief at the great loss the
State of California has sustained in the death
of your honored husband Senator Leland Stanford
and to transmit to you, his honored and beloved
wife, the sincere and heartfelt sympathy of all
the members of Stanford Parlor in this dark hour
of your affliction.

Trusting that you will accept our
brief message as evidence of our deep sympathy
in your great trial, we are with the deepest
