My heart aches for you my dear friend in this great sorrow that has come so suddenly upon you. A sorrow that you have to bear all alone - friends with the kindest intentions cannot help you. But I wished you to know how much you are in my thoughts - tho' far from you - and how I

wish I could help you.

Your great comfort now will be in perfecting the grand educational system, in which his every thought was centered.

I pray that you may have the strength and courage to carry out the plans, that now will be your pleasure.

Words seem so cold and meaningless at such a time as this but the dear Heavenly Father who is too wise to err - too good to be unkind will not leave you comfortless, but will cheer and uphold you with his almighty power

when the dearest of Earth are taken from our sight, but ours still just as surely as when we loved and cared for them here.

O! how lovely was his death!! so gently and painlessly to fall asleep in Jesus - surely He giveth his beloved rest.
