Dear Mrs Stanford I called at the Convent to Day and the sister's superior told me they sent a telegram of simpathy [sic] or condolence to You, and raised the flag, at half mast, but the papers made a mistake and gave the credit to some San Francisco Convent instead of this in sacramento they are sincerely sorry for You and they Pray for Mr Stanford, every Day and for You, that You may have Grace to bear Your loss, and be Comforted.
I hope You are well in body and tranquil in mind, and Your Brother also is better and Your little niece is a comfort to You; I arrived safe Home and am now as usual thoug [sic] feeling a little weak,
hopeing [sic] this will find You well
I remain Yours Respectfully
