Dear Mrs. Stanford;

May I tres-
pass upon your time a few
moments to let you know
that our hearts here are
sorrowing with you in the
sudden taking away of
your beloved husband
and life companion. We
shall all miss him, more
than we can express, though
of late years, his field of [action]
has been so removed from

our midst, yet the fond
remembrance of his genial
kindly smile, will ever be
a sweet solace to us who
knew him personally. I
know you will not be one
who mourns without hope,
for his life was a benefi-
cence to all mankind, an
active, practical Christian.
And what a beautiful, hap-
py reunion between fath-
er and son!! One more
added tie above, to lead
your thoughts and aspirations
upward! May I send
you a sweet little Poem upon
