dear father, than any one
else. On hearing of his sick-
ness last winter, I wrote you
directing to San Francisco.
This, I think, you never re-
ceived, as you started soon
after, for Washington. Since
then, I have been very danger-
ously ill, with pneumonia,
and it is only two weeks ago,
that I was able to come here,
for the summer.

Again offering you my
love, and with the hope and
belief, that we will meet our
dear ones in a happier
world than this, where
there is neither parting
