A day or two ago, just as I
was starting on a short trip, I
took the liberty to send you a
syllabus of lectures given to the
Law students of this University
by Mr. Hutchinson of Palo Alto.

The note printed as a preface
and the words of Mr. Hutchinson
on the following page in fact ex-
plain the case, but it occured
to me that you would be in-
terested to know that Mr. Hutch-
inson presented each student
