This is asking a great deal of you, and yet I know you want to save all the money out to the Committee you possibly can, and you remember Old Ben Franklin said a penny saved was as good as two earned, and I am sure our good cause needs to earn by saving the very little cash that is placed at its disposal. If you will extend the R.R. courtesy to these, it will be a splendid help. Then I want to ask a pass for Mrs John F. My dear Mrs Stanford
At this last moment I find I have not an autograph of your dear husband! Will you please send me one, and that with a new one of your own? I very much wish to put both in my book. I have a fair one of yours, but none of his. I suppose his secretary used to answer & write his letter to me.

Please send the autographs at once, as the copy must go to the publishers very soon.
I was very, very sorry to miss seeing you in Washington. I went at once to the Arlington, to find you had left the day before!
Lovingly & gratefully yours
Susan B. Anthony
