In Mamma's absence, as she always allows, I opened your note and its very generous enclosure. It is hard to find the right words with which to thank you in Mamma's name & mine for such kindess. You must supply them out of your own heart.

Mr Sheldon has just died and a most beautiful death - he learned to love God above all things and received all the Sacraments of his Church and died perfectly happy poor fellow what love God had for him to let him in

Lizzie remains in {Red ?} with her little flock which is now 10 in November. I have been in San Mateo most of my time freeing up my home to rent, it is now rented by William {Bonru?} for 18 months. I go no place, so I have no news to write to you. Think of poor Mrs Teris! we would ? } lived her all she has { ?} strength these last few months. I hope you saw the monument in Italy I had made for my poor Henry - it is now on its way
