of helping us out in our lecture course.

We live in a mining town and are
trying to keep up a course of six good
lectures during the winter. This
winter it has been hard for us to
sell tickets and we fear we shall be
left in debt and that will mean
no lectures next year. Our minister
is the principal one on the committee
and he is far from able to make up
any deficiency. None of use are well
off financially. If you can give us
eighty dollars, it will assure
us for this year and encourage
us for the next year.

Dear Mrs. Stanford this letter
goes to you with prayers that you will
read it yourself and that you may be
inclined to grant us the request. These
lectures mean much to our commun-
nity. No one knows I am writing to you,
and if you send us the money it will
be a glad surprise to the committee.
I can refer you to our pastor, Rev. J.S.
Martin (Pres.) and to Mr. Willard Wall
cashier First Nat. bank of this town.

Very Truly Yours,
Mrs. S.C. Hanson
20e N. 14th St.
