Have you studied the problem of the
country church. A generation ago the
great West took off the many [pushing?]
energetic families and now for twenty
or more the cities are sapping the life
blood of the country congregations.
Every young man and woman of
ability and promise whose lives we
have watched and educated in the
SSchool The Junior Endeavor and
Senior as well and many of whom
have become [?] helpful Christians
find positions in the cities or as Profess
ors in colleges or other professions and
the home church is bereft of thier Social,
moral, religious, and financial help
and influence. We know that many
of them will be workers and givers
wherever they go, but this constant
drain of the brightest and best leaves
the church reduced in strength and
