Jan 2nd 1902 Gov Stanford Hon Dear Sir If you are still interested in horses I propose to give you free ( for one at least) information not obtainable from any other that will I think be of value to you in buying or before training. Try me by sending some photos of their heads, giving a clear view, nearly side, yet also that I may see their faces. Also have their ears forward if you can. I propose to give their capacity for trotting, running, or walking also, endurence and dispositions. and wheither keen on the bit, or otherwise and their manner of stepping possibly. Also in drafts wheither true to start and draw heavy loads. (In Western bred horses or their cross branches I am not yet satisfied as to their traits) I now reside at Souris Manitoba but prevaiously at Macville Ont. where Charles and J Taylor were raised, who were once in your employ. give me enough of money to help me though a medical college I can complete a four years course in medicine for $500.00 Five Hundred Dollars I live in a country where doctors are scarce - have always wanted study medicine But never have been able "Financially" to accomplish my aim. My dear Madam
I am an humble minister of the gospel of the Blessed Christ. I know I am called of God to this work & in the [ten?] years of His ministry He has wonderfully blest my work in the conversion of souls but I am poor & now for these years my wife has been very very delicate & last summer had to go to Hospital & be operated upon & as a result of all this sickness & expense what little means I had has been used up & owing to wife's delicate condition I have been compelled to give up my pastorate at Junction City Kas and move here to the farm & take the pastorate of two little country churches that together can only pay a salary of $300 per annum & our family of six children & ourselves can't possibly live upon it. We have bought a little farm of 80 acres & many acres
