Dear Madam I write
you to ask you if you will aid me
of course I am a perfect stranger
to you but I know you are generous
well I am in sore need and I thought
perhaps you would be inclined to
help me We have a mortgage of
five hundred dollars on our little
home which perhaps we might
have been able in time to pay but
we had the misfortune to have our
house burned down recently and are
unable to build and keep our home
