Dear Madame, having noticed your vast amt of wealth and liberality, decided to ask you to help us to finish our new church. (Associated Reform - Presbyterian) we had thought we had money enough Subscribed, but it more than we expected. & then Draut [sic-draught]] cut of [sic-off]] our crops & we could not collect all that was Subscribed.

we will need about $800.00 to finish the church. Any amount you may See fit to give us will be very much appreciated. Send to my credit at Charlotte National Bank, Charlotte, N.C.
