My Dear Mrs Stanford

I have been reading
so much of your liberality in giving
to the poor and to Schools and
churches. I hope you won't think
me audacious to ask you for a little
contribution to our church in
Trenton. We have commenced
building but have to stop for want
of arrears. It is a Cumberland
Presbyterian Church and we have
only a few members and only
a few that are able to give anything.
We are building a stone church
