Mrs. Jane L. Stanford San Francisco Madam:

I was in receipt yesterday morning of the following telegram sent by you "Concluded not to have twenty four windows of mosaics Stanford."

I trust I have well interpreted your wish viz: that presently you do not want to order the 24 mosaics.

I hope you have received the two drawings for the two pictures in the nave and I beg of you to let me know your decision about the third pictures on the entrance door of the Museum. If you insist to have the one representing the ruins of Abyssinia, Prof. Paoletti says he could sketch something reminding the kingdom of Solomon; if you instead accept my suggestion to have a view of the ruins of Athens or a picture representing literature - we are ready for them.

In ten or twenty days I will send the other half of the big picture and by the end of May I hope to ship the three other pictures for the Museum - which will complete the orders of our contract. As you see I succeeded to perform them 2 months earlier than I expected. I beg to remain with best compliments,

Respectfully yours M. Camerino

Mrs. Jane L. Stanford San Francisco Madam:

I heard this morning by my men whom are at Palo Alto that you have decided to have the gold mosaics I sent, fixed in the Cupol of the Museum. The effect will be certainly good, but I take the liberty to suggest to you to have some blew enamelled stars fixed with the gold ground at 3 feet far one from the other. I have made a lot of cupols with these stars and the effect is beautiful.

I wish to say that I shall not charge anything for these stars which I propose to send to you, but I would be pleased if you accept my suggestion as the effect will be no doubt far superior.

As I might be quite able to send them with the invoice for end of May, kindly wire me only, Send stars, and will ship a sufficient quantity already pasted on paper.

Kindly let me know about the third picture for over the entrance door in Museum.

I beg to remain with sincere compliments, Respectfully yours, M. Camerino
