The enclosed article came to my notice this morning and I write at once to let you know that the summer school to be held at Pacific Grove can not be called the Stanford Summer School. I do not wish to have the impression go forth that Stanford Univer-

sity is carrying on that Summer School. If the article is true, and Stanford Pro fessors are about to open this school they must call it by another name, - and I wish this news paper article con tradicted at once I [sic] has made me feel very badly that the name of Stanford should be used for a

purpose so entirely at variance with my husband's wishes.

allow and I expect to be called by some other name.

The Professors if they charge do it for their own benefit but cannot attach Stanford [?] for such purposes
