Mrs Leland Stanford Palo Alto, Cal

Dear Madam,

I see by the press dispatcher that you have gained your suit vs the government for which accept congratulations. I have a little boy named Leland Stanford Forrest and since he is old enough to know who he is named after whenver he sees the name in the daily paper he will call his papa or mama's attention to it, and ask what it means, and require an explanation. Let your noble work go on. It will secure its reward.

Respt yours R. F. Forrest
