We had a visit from Santa Claus and the children were wild with delight. Our good time at the kindergarten will make up in a measure for the hard times at home this year. In my visits to the children's homes I see the results of so many men being thrown out of employment and I know the parents were grateful that their children would not be wholly without gifts for the Holiday season.

With sincere wishes for a Happy Christmas to you and a bright New Year.

I remain yours sincerely

Mary [?] Gamble

Dec. 1893 Stanford Kindergarten

My Dear Mrs Stanford-

With this little gift which the children send you, goes much love and happy and grateful thought of yourself. While making their gifts the little ones were very happy thinking they could do something for you.

I wished you could have seen and heard them so busy and proud that "this is for Mrs Stanford."

The school has had a good year, and we felt truly blessed on Thanksgiving and now doubly so this joyful Christmas.
