San Francisco, Feby 1895 My dear Mrs Stanford,
Since my return to San Francisco last June I have been particularly anxious to see you, but have been disappointed at not finding you at home when I called-I sympathize with you in your great affliction and in nearly every letter I receive from my little daughter she wants to know why I have not seen her dear kind friend Mrs Stanford This is my second letter to

you since my return to Cala from Washington and I trust this will meet with more success than the last one, and that you will drop me a line saying when you will grant me an interview, as I should dearly love to see you.
I pray that Our good Lord will comfort you in your great sorrow and bereavement and give you strength to endure your affliction.
It will be but a short time until both you and I will be called to meet our dear ones on the other side--
With much love and affection Your sincere friend Eleanor E. Gilmor
