I am sure you would be gratified if you knew how much pleasure it gave me to receive and read your very interesting letter.
In this hurry of departure, you forgot to send me your European address as you promised me.
I will prize them most highly. Fred and Ida are out at Columbus Ohio, will be back this P.M. When we leave here & stop for a week at West Point, and after that I go to the sea shore for a week & hope to be in N Y when you arrive, when I hope you can tell me you are well again. Jesse came up to see me before he left for California, where his family is. I am very well in health but otherwise I have made no progress
