My dear Mrs Stanford

I was so pleased
to get your letter
acknowledging
my Florida papers.

I thought it would
remind you of me
for I had not had
a word from
you for such a
long time I feared
the dear Senator

well, and that
you were ill, and
had gone west,
and I was not to
see you again.

And your letter
assures me your
dear husband
is improving,
and that you
are quite well. I had
my maid write
and secure rooms
